Veneers for Menthat do not look done
On a man, veneers that look like dental work defeat the purpose. Dr. Mehdizadeh designs each case from your face, and our laboratory layers the porcelain by hand, so the teeth read as your own.

Before, and after.
Every smile on this site was made here: our patients, our laboratory, our work.

A gap clear aligners could not close, closed with porcelain veneers.See the case →On a man, a done look is the wrong result.
Veneers that are too white, too bulky or too uniform look like dental work rather than teeth. For a man that is the whole problem: the point of the work is a better smile, not a visible one.
So the design starts from that constraint. The length, shade and surface of each tooth are chosen so that people notice the smile, not the veneers.
For men, it is critical that the end result not look like they had work done. A “done” look on men is typically perceived as unattractive and not confident.
Kiyan Mehdizadeh, DMD

Designed from your face, not from a template.
Dental teaching has long called square teeth with flat edges masculine and rounded teeth feminine. Studies that test this find that neither dentists nor the public can reliably tell a man’s teeth from a woman’s by shape alone, and most people’s teeth are a mix of forms. A template labeled masculine is not what makes a man’s veneers look right.
What does is proportion to you. Men show less of the upper front teeth when the lips are relaxed than women do, and everyone shows less with age, so the length of each tooth is set from your lips, your face and your age rather than from an average.
The shade is chosen against your skin and the whites of your eyes, not taken from the lightest shade on the guide, and the porcelain is given the surface texture enamel has, so it scatters light the way teeth do.

Layered by hand, in the same building.
The ceramist in our laboratory builds each veneer by hand in layers of porcelain, to reproduce what makes enamel look alive: its translucency, the gradation of its color and the texture of its surface.
The laboratory is in the same building as the practice, so the design, the porcelain and the final adjustments pass between doctor and technician directly, with no outsourced laboratory work.
You see it before it is final.
Before any porcelain is made, you wear the new design as temporary veneers. You see it while you talk, laugh and eat, and it is adjusted in the mouth until you approve every tooth. The final veneers are copied from the temporaries you approved.
This is where you decide whether the design looks like you: at work, at home and in photographs, before any porcelain is made.

From the design to the final porcelain.
Patients who travel make two trips: five nights for the examination, design, preparation and temporaries, then three nights for the final porcelain, four to eight weeks apart.
Consultation and design
Dr. Mehdizadeh examines you, photographs your smile and designs the new teeth to your face. You leave with a written plan that lists every visit and the total cost.
Gum line and whitening first
Where the gum line is uneven, a gum lift comes first, because veneers designed against an uneven gum line inherit it. Natural teeth that stay are whitened and left to settle, because porcelain does not respond to whitening.
Preparation and temporaries
The teeth are prepared, and you wear the new design as temporary veneers, adjusted in the mouth until you approve it.
The porcelain
Our laboratory makes the final veneers, copied from the temporaries you approved.
Bonding and the bite
The veneers are tried in and bonded, and the bite is balanced.
Maintenance
If you grind your teeth, a night guard protects the porcelain. Routine cleanings keep the edges of the veneers clean.
What veneers cost.
The price is set by the number of veneers, because where the porcelain ends decides how many a smile needs: four, eight, ten or twenty. The other part is what comes first. Most cases also include a gum lift or whitening.
Four veneers start at $16,000. $192/month: 144 payments at 9.99% APR, on approved credit. Every number and its price is set out in the full price table.
The consultation, including a 3D X-ray (CT scan), is complimentary. Most PPO plans contribute toward the cost of treatment. Financing is available.

One doctor, from the design to the final porcelain.
Dr. Mehdizadeh designs every veneer case himself. He trained in fixed prosthodontics under Mauro Fradeani in Italy, and our laboratory, in the same building, makes the veneers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will veneers look obvious on a man?
They should not, and avoiding that is the aim of the design. The length, shade and surface texture of each tooth are set from your face, and you wear the design as temporary veneers before the final porcelain is made.
How many veneers will I need?
Where the porcelain ends decides it: four, eight, ten or twenty. Four veneers end at the canines, where nature already places a change in color. Eight or ten end behind the corner of the smile, out of the direct line of sight. Two and six are avoided.
What if I grind my teeth?
Where grinding has worn the teeth, the bite is analyzed first, and its measurements set the length and shape every tooth is allowed. After the veneers are bonded, a night guard protects the porcelain.
What can veneers correct?
Discoloration that whitening cannot reach, including tetracycline staining, fluorosis and the darkening of a tooth after a root canal; teeth that are chipped, worn or irregularly formed; gaps; minor misalignment; and teeth that look too small or too short.
How much tooth is removed for veneers?
Minimal-preparation veneers need 0.3 to 0.5mm of enamel, about the thickness of a contact lens. In selected cases veneers can be placed with no reduction at all.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
With good care, porcelain veneers typically last 15 to 20 years or longer. Oral hygiene, avoiding habits such as biting nails or chewing ice, and a night guard if you grind your teeth all affect how long they last.
Can old veneers be replaced?
Yes. The old veneers are removed, the teeth beneath them are assessed, and the new design is worn as temporary veneers before the final porcelain is made. Replacing veneers costs the same as new veneers.
How long does the veneer process take?
Patients who travel make two trips: five nights for the examination, design, preparation and temporaries, then three nights for the final porcelain and the bite, four to eight weeks apart.
How much do veneers for men cost?
Veneers are priced by the number of veneers in the case, from $16,000 for four, never per tooth. Each number and its price is set out on our page on how many veneers you need. The consultation is complimentary, and financing is available.
Is financing available for veneers?
Yes. Ten veneers at $24,000 are $287/month: 144 payments at 9.99% APR, on approved credit. Most PPO plans contribute toward the cost of treatment.
