What it costs

Three options, one price each.

Each price covers the surgery, IV sedation, extractions, the temporary teeth, the try-in prototype, the final bridge and the follow-up visits until we deliver it.

PMMA on a milled titanium bar

$227/month

$19,000 per arch

$34,000 both arches

144 payments at 9.99% APR, on approved credit.

The lightest option, and the quickest and least costly to repair or remake. Acrylic wears and can take on stain, so the teeth may need refurbishing in time. This case has it in both arches.

Hand-layered zirconia

$287/month

$24,000 per arch

$42,000 both arches

144 payments at 9.99% APR, on approved credit.

A ceramic, layered by hand for color and translucency, that resists staining and wear better than acrylic. It is heavier, and a repair takes more work. The cases replacing acrylic implant teeth with porcelain and rebuilding both arches on eight implants had this option.

Complex Reconstruction

$407/month

$34,000 per arch

$58,000 both arches

144 payments at 9.99% APR, on approved credit.

Also includes removing failed implants, grafting and sinus work, with the bridge in whichever material the case needs. The cases rebuilding an upper arch after gum disease and rebuilding an upper arch around the teeth worth keeping had this option.

Most PPO plans contribute toward the cost of treatment. Financing is available.

What full-arch treatment is

A full arch, fixed to the jaw.

A full-arch bridge is a complete set of teeth for the upper or the lower jaw, made as one piece and screwed to implants in the bone. Four implants is the usual number, sometimes five or six, depending on the bone and the length of the arch. The bridge does not come out; you clean it in place with a water flosser and interdental brushes.

It suits people whose remaining teeth cannot be saved, most often because gum disease has destroyed the bone that holds them, and people in a denture who want teeth that stay in. The CT scan measures the bone. Where the jaw has lost bone, Dr. Mehdizadeh can often rebuild it with grafting, or a sinus lift in the upper back jaw, in the same appointment as the implants.

Same-day teeth

You are not left without teeth.

Where the implants hold firmly in the bone during surgery, Dr. Mehdizadeh attaches a fixed temporary bridge the same day, which our laboratory makes beforehand. In this case, he placed five implants and delivered the temporary the same day.

Where the bone is softer, or infection has to clear first, the implants heal without load, because pressure in the first weeks can stop them integrating. You then wear an interim denture, made before the surgery and relined as the gums settle, as the patients in this case and this one did. Your written plan says which the CT scan makes likely; we do not promise fixed teeth on the day in advance.

How treatment runs

From the scan to the final teeth.

3D planning of implant positions for a full arch on a CT scan, Beverly Hills
The plan is made on the 3D X-ray (CT scan) before surgery: the position, angle and depth of every implant.
  1. Consultation and CT scan

Dr. Mehdizadeh examines you and reads the 3D X-ray (CT scan). You leave with a written plan that lists every visit and the total cost.

  2. Design

Dr. Mehdizadeh designs the teeth for your face: the length and shape of each tooth, the gum line and how the teeth sit under your lip. Our laboratory makes the temporary teeth from that design.

  3. Surgery

Under IV sedation in this office, Dr. Mehdizadeh removes the failing teeth, performs any grafting and places the implants. Where the implants hold firmly, the temporary teeth go in the same day; otherwise you wear the interim denture.

  4. Healing

Over the following months the bone grows against the implants and holds them.

  5. Try-in prototype

You wear a prototype of the final teeth anywhere from 1 week to multiple weeks, testing the design as you eat, speak and smile. We adjust it until you approve it.

  6. Final bridge

Our laboratory makes it from the approved prototype, and we balance the bite.

Why it looks natural

Designed for your face. Made in our laboratory.

In Dr. Mehdizadeh's experience, full-arch teeth from large implant centers often look too large. Oversized teeth are not age-appropriate, and they get clocked as fake: a uniform edge across a whole arch identifies a full-arch bridge at once, and long teeth give one away as quickly. Dr. Mehdizadeh designs from the face, varying the edges and keeping the teeth in proportion to the lips, and you test the design in the prototype first.

Most people who need a full arch have lost gum and bone along with their teeth. Pink porcelain, shaded to match gum, is built into the bridge where that height has gone, so the gum line sits where it used to and the teeth keep natural proportions. In this case, gum disease had cost the patient bone and gum; her upper arch was rebuilt on four implants with a bridge in pink porcelain.

The ceramist in our laboratory, in the same building, builds the porcelain by hand.

Who treats you

One doctor, from consultation to final teeth.

Dr. Mehdizadeh examines you, gives the IV sedation, places the implants and designs the teeth, and our laboratory, in the same building, makes them.

These are the questions worth putting to any center, including this one. Who owns the practice: a doctor, or private equity? Who will actually treat you: who examines you, places the implants, gives the sedation and designs the teeth? Will you wear a prototype before the final bridge, and for how long?

Frequently Asked Questions

What does full-arch treatment cost for both arches?

PMMA on a milled titanium bar is $34,000. $407/month: 144 payments at 9.99% APR, on approved credit. Hand-layered zirconia is $42,000. $502/month: 144 payments at 9.99% APR, on approved credit. Complex Reconstruction is $58,000. $693/month: 144 payments at 9.99% APR, on approved credit. Each includes the surgery, IV sedation, extractions, temporary teeth, the try-in prototype, the final bridge and the follow-up visits until delivery.

Does full-arch implant surgery hurt?

Dr. Mehdizadeh performs it under IV sedation in this office, and most patients remember very little of it. Swelling builds for about two days and settles over the following week; most people manage on ordinary pain relief.

How long does full-arch treatment take?

The cases on this site took from sixteen weeks to seven months, most of it healing. Your written plan gives your timeline before you begin.

How long can full-arch implants last?

Implants can last for decades; long-term studies report implant survival above ninety percent at ten years. The bridge is a wearing part, and in time it may need repair, refinishing or replacement, which is straightforward because it unscrews from the implants.

Does insurance cover full-arch implants?

Most PPO plans contribute toward the cost of treatment.

Am I too old for full-arch implants?

Age on its own is not a limiting factor; bone and general health are.

I already wear a denture. Can I still have fixed teeth?

Yes. Bone shrinks faster under a denture, so the CT scan shows how much remains and whether it needs grafting. If you would rather keep a removable denture, one that clips onto implants is the alternative.

My implants were placed by another dentist. Can you help?

Often, yes. When the implants have integrated and sit in usable positions, only the teeth on them need to change. Where implants have failed, Complex Reconstruction includes removing and replacing them.
